Report and request for prayer on behalf of the churches in Indonesia

Dear saints in the churches in the United States: The COVID-19 pandemic has reminded us of the frailty and uncertainty of our human existence, while at the same time affording us the opportunity to enter into the practical application of the reality of the Body of Christ. As of July 10, 2021, the number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Indonesia is nearly 2.5 million, with an increase of over 35,000 new cases from the previous day. Together with the rest of the nation and the region, we have been reeling from the swift turn of events over the past two months, as we have assisted hundreds of saints infected with the virus get access to limited medicines, hospital beds, and timely medical treatment. As of today, more than 850 of our saints, their family members, and gospel contacts—mostly in Jakarta—have been infected. Eight saints have passed away, while more than 150 have recovered. As we are experiencing the……

A Brief Report Concerning India

The second wave of the pandemic was severe in India than the first. The country was not prepared for it. As the first wave had subsided, everything was opened up and people started to gather together as before which led to a serious outbreak for which we were not prepared. So there is an immense shortage of oxygen cylinders and also hospital beds. As of now the situation is grim and is expected to peak by the second week of May. Many cities are going into lockdown again. Coming to the saints in the churches in India, unlike the first wave, more saints are affected by the second wave.  So far we have lost three brothers and 1 sister among us. Some saints have recovered and some are in the process of recovery with mild to moderate symptoms. .As far as the church life is concerned, the saints are still……

Report on Israel

The recent eruption in the conflict between Hamas and the state of Israel was precipitated by security concerns around the Al Aqsa Mosque compound (the Temple Mount) and a legal dispute over Jewish owned land in East Jerusalem. The wider causes lie in the rivalry of Palestinian factions for the leadership of the Palestinian cause and the perceived political weakness of the present Israeli interim government. When Israel failed to meet an ultimatum given by Hamas to withdraw its security personnel from the Temple Mount, to release all those who have been detained over the disorders, and to cancel the legal proceedings over the land dispute, on Monday, May 10 at 6.01 PM, Hamas commenced its rocket attacks against the cities of Israel, beginning with Jerusalem. Since then over 4,000 rockets have been launched against Israel, and Israel has responded with air strikes. In addition, there have been riots by Arab Israelis……

Azerbaijan   Azerbaijan is a stable, secular Muslim nation located on the Caspian Sea, between Iran, Turkey and Russia. Collectively the region is known as the South Caucasus or West Asia. A couple first moved here more than two years ago, and some more saints arrived later. After a while some of the saints returned to their home localities. By His sovereignty the remaining saints continued to live near one another. Such arrangement allowed us to meet for daily coordination. Last fall we began to remember the Lord at His Table, but we have not yet taken the ground. Since February of last year there have been regular online meetings conducted in the local language and several other times of online blending with overseas saints. Last year we walked through Paul’s four Epistles—Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians—the heart of the divine revelation and through the Gospel of Luke. We read……

An Update on Nepal   The Church in Pokhara After the outbreak of the pandemic last year, many saints left Pokhara and returned to their villages. Yet the saints continued to have morning revival and evening prayer times by phone and via internet. In response to the global prayer watch, every night there is a prayer meeting of the church. By entering into the daily scriptures and messages corresponding each day’s prayer burden, we have become more burdened and the content of our prayers richer. The saints enjoy this kind of prayer meeting. With the recent return of the saints from the villages to Pokhara, the church life is now more stable and regulated, and some saints have been shepherded back to the fellowship of the Body. The church in Pokhara has endeavored to perfect the local brothers in two aspects—entering into the truths of the ministry and serving in……

Sri Lanka   Newly Established Churches The church in Rambukkana The church in Rambukkana started with a sister and her family. They had to travel from home to Kandy every week to attend the Lord’s Table Meeting, which was a four-hour round trip. This spurred their burden to establish a church in their hometown. The year before last, some brothers preached the gospel there and gained another family, so the saints started to have meetings in Rambukkana. In the past year, three nearby churches―Kurunegala, Alawwa and Kandy―joined forces to propagate. Through the saints’ knocking on warm doors and regular weekly shepherding, ten households who were open to the Lord’s recovery were gained. Based on the fellowship of the brothers of the three nearby churches in the consciousness of the Body, the ten house-holds were divided into 3 groups, with each locality taking care of one group. Every week, there was……
